Ministries and Brotherly Fellowship
Reformation church is involved with several ministries by way of financial support, prayer support, or brotherly fellowship. In some cases, our members serve in these extended ministries.
The Orthodox Presbyterian Worldwide Outreach
This missions outreach has a strong presence in nations like Uganda, Eritrea, and Haiti.
Christian Home Educators of Colorado
Pastor Kevin Swanson has served as Executive Director of this organization since 1999. God has used this ministry to reach out to 10,000s of families over the years who are seeking to understand what a God-centered education looks like. Kevin Swanson’s book, Upgrade (Broadman and Holman, 2006), provides a biblically-based philosophy of a Christian education in both method and content.
Generations
The church has sponsored this radio program for the last four years. Hosted by Pastor Kevin Swanson, this daily radio show addresses relevant issues of the day from a biblical perspective, and from the perspective of a father raising five children for the kingdom of God.
Samaritan Orphanage
We have supported this precious orphanage outreach in Lusaka, Zambia for over five years now. Pastor John Jere’s vision for bringing the gospel in word and deed to his own nation is the vision that will transform Africa. His orphanage ministers to over 50 orphans whose parents have died of AIDS.
Mid-East Reformed Fellowship
This outstanding ministry broadcasts a gospel message to the Muslim world of North Africa and the Middle East. They are active in training Christian leaders throughout that area of the world.
Slavic Reformation Society
In 1999, missionary Blake Purcell established the first Reformed Seminary in St. Petersburg, Russia. Since then he has trained at least 20 pastors for the ministry of the Word in a nation that has had very little semblance of Christian thought and life. Bringing a biblical worldview into every area of life will surely transform the nation of Russia in all of its institutions in the years to come.
Renewing the Family Camp
Each year, Reformation Church sponsors a family camp at Glorieta New Mexico. This camp typically attracts between 400 and 600 attendees, and affords us opportunity for some heavy-duty fellowship with our own members as well as with like-minded folks from the surrounding western states. The 2200-acre convention site offers a tremendous range of amenities, while giving us the ability to price the camp as low as $99 per family (which would cover registration and board).
National Center for Family Integrated Churches
With the dissolution of the family and the loss of vision from generation to generation, it is exciting to witness efforts to improve the relationship of family and church according to a biblical model. One of the organizations that has raised awareness on this issue by means of conferences and websites is the NCFIC.
Christian Leaders Institute
Christian Leaders Institute is a ministry that has formed a training institute for church leaders who will equip families to their home discipleship responsibilities. Kevin Swanson is an adjunct professor with the Christian Leaders Institute.
Paideia Network and CHEA-Japan
On invitation from CHEA-Japan, Pastor Kevin Swanson has had opportunity to travel to Japan to encourage families there who are seeking to provide their children a Christian education from a biblical worldview perspective. The church prays regularly for these indigenous organizations in that country that are slowly building a vision for the kingdom with a generational scope.
Vida Nueva Ministries
In July, 2007, Pastor Kevin Swanson traveled to Saltillo, Mexico, where he ministered to a home school conference organized by Mike Richardson and Vida Nueva Ministries. Over 1200 homeschoolers came for encouragement and vision from God’s Word on a God-centered approach to education and discipleship. Mike also invited Kevin to speak at his church nestled in the mountains west of Saltillo, where Mike and his wife Pam have been laboring for the last eight years.
